Training and Experience
Shaketa Robinson-Bruce is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the State of Georgia. She holds a Master of Science degree in Counseling and Human Development and a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology; both from Troy University. Shaketa’s experience has consisted of working with disadvantaged youth, women, and families. She has worked in outpatient settings, residential facilities, and group private practice.
Shaketa’s treatment approach to helping individuals in counseling is person-centered and cognitive-behavioral among other modalities. She views the counselor-client relationship as a team approach encouraging clients to work with her throughout the process. Shaketa recognizes her positive influence and her ability to connect with those who struggle to overcome challenges in their lives. She is passionate about helping others overcome obstacles in order to reach their full potential. Shaketa is dedicated to educating and empowering individuals to live psychologically healthy lives. She is also in training to become a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist and uses it as an adjunct in her current therapy to further assist her clients. Mrs. Bruce provides individual, family, couples and group counseling.
*Mrs. Bruce sees clients at both the Smyrna and Douglasville locations.
