Training and Experience
Phyllis Dumas-Combs is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Georgia. She earned her Masters of Education from the University of West Georgia and her Educational Specialist Degree in school counseling from Argosy University, Sarasota, Florida.
Phyllis’ experience includes working with children and adolescents in providing individual and group counseling, in addition to family therapy. She has worked as a school social worker for over 18 years.
Phyllis focuses on encouragement, and a non-judgmental -holistic approach in the client-therapist relationship. She incorporates bibliotherapy, mandalas, and art in the therapeutic process. Phyllis uses several counseling approaches to help her clients but, the two most utilized are Solution Focused Therapy & Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
Phyllis sees clients at the Douglasville office and is available for evening appointments.
