Dr. N. A. White, “Nina,” is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Georgia and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMH) in the state of Florida. She earned her Ph.D., specialization: marital, couple, and Family Counseling/Therapy, from Barry University, located in Miami Shores, Florida, in 2012. She also earned Dual Master’s Degrees in Mental Health Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy from Barry University, Miami Shores, Florida, in 1996. Nina is a National Certified Counselor (NCC) through the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC) and a honorably retired police officer from the Miami-Dade Police Department after 26 years of service. She has nearly 20 years of experience and service in the counseling and mental health field.
Nina’s experience includes working with at-risk youths and their families, couples, individuals, providing family therapy, parent coordination and parenting skills facilitation. She has worked in agencies, in-home settings, the police department, and private practice.
Nina's therapeutic approach of providing intervention and prevention consists of several models, Family Therapy, Person Centered and Cognitive Behavior among others. Nina supports using Cognitive Behavior in order to promote positive change in client’s thinking, thus behavior. Nina has a passion for helping others reach their goals and with women who have been in domestically violent relationships.
