Training and Experience
Dr. Mildred Howard holds an Education Specialist degree in School Psychology from Georgia State University, a Master’s degree in Educational Psychology from Florida Atlantic University and a Doctortate from Liberty University in Professional Counseling. Mildred is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Georgia (LPC#004112), a Board Certified Professional Christian Counselor through the American Association of Christian Counselors, and a Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor (CPCS) in Georgia.
Mildred has over 15 years experience working with families, children, adolescents, and teens. Mildred has worked in public school systems in both Cherokee and Cobb counties and is a member of the Georgia Association of School Counselors and the National Association of School Psychologists.
Mildred specializes in working with children, adolescents, teens, and women. She has experience with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, childhood disorders, family and parenting problems, women’s issues, and grief/bereavement. She is trained in providing Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Children and Play Therapy. Mildred uses Rogerian, Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy techniques. For clients who request it, Mildred is able to incorporate Christian Counseling during the therapeutic process.
Mildred also has extensive testing experience and is able to complete assessments to diagnose learning disabilities, ADHD, and social/emotional difficulties in children and youth.

Mildred sees clients at the Douglasville office and is available for evening and weekend appointments. She also provides clinical supervision towards LPC licensure.
