Training and Experience
Alex Hodges holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Georgia State University, and a Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Mercer University. She is an Associate Professional Counselor in the state of Georgia, as well as is a Nationally Certified Counselor.
Alex has a warm spirit that is inviting for all her clients. She has a passion to help her clients find their true potential to live meaningful lives by providing them with self-confidence. She uses techniques and theories based on the unique needs of the individual, but primarily focuses on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness. Alex believes by slowing down from everyday life stressors and focusing on the moment, this allows one to find greater self-awareness and recognize one’s potential. She also believes in a strong therapeutic relationship to foster growth, and she encourages clients to take part in a collaborative working process.
Alex provides individual and family counseling. She works with both adolescents and adults. Alex has experience working with adults dealing with trauma, depression, anxiety, and self-esteem issues. She also has experience working with adolescents with learning and behavioral differences who deal with self-esteem, confidence, and social issues. Alex also has experience working with clients from multicultural backgrounds and uses techniques based on the needs of the individual. She is currently accepting new clients and invites you to take that next step of self-discovery to become a better you!
Alex sees clients at the Douglasville office and has evening appointment availability. She works under the direction of Kristy Christopher-Holloway, LPC, and the clinical supervision of Suneetha Manyam, Ph.D., LPC, CPCS, NCC.
